Born in1981 on The Wirral, Michael Sheldon is an award wining artist currently living in London. After being interested in art and taking specialised art courses as a child and teen, he spent 8 years in the Royal Marines and conducted 2 tours in Afghanistan. After, transitioning into the private security sector, he spent 3 years protecting merchant vessels from the threat of pirates. During this time, he would take small canvasses out with him, which rekindled his love of art.

In 2017 he started to turn to art again seriously at the encouragement of his family and entered his first competition in 2018, which he won. This gave him the confidence to continue. He often spends months on a painting focusing on the tiny details. He describes himself as a realist painter touching on hyperrealism.
